Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation launched a comprehensive fundraising campaign centered on developing programs, improving research capabilities, and attracting specialized talent. CCS assisted with the development, planning, and management of this campaign, which is on track to exceed its goal.

The Challenge

To support its strategic plan, Nationwide Children’s prioritized four primary needs for the campaign: developing programs, improving research capabilities, attracting specialized talent, and enriching facilities. In order to address these needs, the hospital would have to launch its largest campaign ever.

The Solution

CCS has worked with Nationwide Children’s for more than four years, assisting the Foundation across a wide-spectrum of development activities, including an assessment of its historical development operations; a planning study; campaign design, planning, and management; analysis of gift processing and development operations; and an assessment of concierge/international program efficiencies and potential. CCS also helped support Foundation leadership transitions, optimize organizational structure, and secure needed budgetary investments to implement its campaign. 

The Impact

To date, Nationwide Children’s has raised significant philanthropic capital towards its campaign, has secured eight-figure commitments, and has broken its records for most funds raised in a year. As an outgrowth of the philanthropic contributions received in the campaign, Nationwide Children’s is taking a stance as a leader in behavioral health, and is constructing America’s largest pediatric behavioral health treatment and research center.
