Our Partnership
Founded in 1961, the American School of Madrid has been preparing students for their future for more than 60 years. ASM’s diverse student body balances the American, Spanish and International elements of the school community. The School provides a K through 12 education to 1,000+ students annually and has an alumni base living in 40 different countries throughout the world.
ASM engaged CCS in 2019 to conduct a planning study to assess the School’s capacity to embark on a fundraising campaign aligned to its delivery of a comprehensive strategic plan. This planning phase gathered nearly 500 opinions from parents, alumni and board members, who expressed support for the School’s vision.
Working closely with the Headmaster and Board Chair, CCS recommended a €3 million goal, toward which fundraising commenced in late 2020. The initial target has nearly been reached, which includes 18 pledges at the six- and five-figure level.
CCS has supported ASM in identifying parents to request these top-level gifts, provided coaching, developed strategies and helped to create the campaign materials. Additionally, CCS has worked with fundraising and communications staff to align messaging with the campaign and broader school development.
The philanthropic commitment of the ASM community will enable the School to advance in the areas of academic programming, faculty development, capital projects, and much more.
“Through our work with CCS, we began to tell the ASM story in a more comprehensive way. We were able to express the importance of philanthropy with our families and communicate its benefit to our school’s growth over time.”
Ben Weinberg, Headmaster, American School of Madrid
