Horace Mann School’s $100 million effort for facility improvements was designed to inspire scientific study, encourage community, promote wellness, and strengthen athletics for current and future students. CCS was brought on to manage the school’s campaign, HM in Motion. As of March 2018, over $91 million has been raised, including 29 seven-figure gifts.
Horace Mann School, one of the country’s leading liberal arts institutions, sought to construct new facilities that would mirror the excellence of its renowned programmatic offerings. School leaders set an ambitious goal of raising $100 million for the purpose of building a world-class science and community center, as well as state-of-the-art athletic facilities, while maintaining a $6 million Annual Fund.
Horace Mann School retained CCS in February of 2015 to restart its capital campaign, HM in Motion. In partnering with CCS, Horace Mann School crafted a compelling case for support, recruited a dedicated group of volunteer leaders, and cultivated leadership donors. CCS and Horace Mann School developed a detailed plan that leveraged the exceptional leadership and commitment of the Head of School and Director of Development to maximize the campaign’s efficiency and to expand its considerable scope.
The collaboration between CCS and Horace Mann allowed the school’s Development Office to remain focused on its priorities of annual fundraising and alumni outreach. The success of CCS’s partnership with Horace Mann School is evident not only in the $91 million pledged to the HM in Motion campaign, but in the abbreviated timeline during which these funds have been raised. Originally planned as a five-year campaign, HM in Motion will meet its goal nearly two years ahead of schedule. CCS is honored to work with Horace Mann School on this historic project.Contact Us
