The International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture came into force in 2004 and has since been ratified by 139 countries.

CCS partnered with the Treaty to create a fundraising plan for a global initiative addressing food security and adaptation to climate change. CCS examined the efforts of other start-up multilateral organisations and, combined with our extensive knowledge on fundraising best practices, prepared a strategy of steady and progressive growth that builds upon the Treaty’s core constituents and outlines new avenues of growth.

The fundraising plan was agreed by all members and CCS supported the Treaty in exceeding phase one of the $116 million goal.
